The Charter Area
Martinique originally became a French colony in 1815 and has been a
region of France since 1974. Today you can experience the intriguing
mix of Caribbean friendliness, music and dance mixed with French
food and culture
Sandy beaches, secluded coves and reefs
perfect for swimming and snorkeling, unspoiled fishing villages, hot
springs, lush rainforests, rugged peaks and exotic flowers and fruit
can be found throughout the island of Martinique
This is a
great base for exploring St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines to
the south. Sail north and discover Dominica, Guadeloupe and Antigua.
Island hop between Petite Anse d’Arlet, the bay of Fort de France
and St. Pierre, or head to Bequia, St. Lucia’s Rodney Bay and
Soufrière’s waterfalls, hot springs and volcano. Sail to Petit
Nevis, Mustique, Mayreau, the Tobago Cays, and Union, the capital of
the Grenadines
• Season •
The main season runs from November
through to the end of June. High season is limited to the two
holiday weeks over Christmas/New Year. August, September and October
are the Caribbean hurricane season and we don't recommend you
charter during these months
• Weather • Climate • Wind •
Temperatures are consistent year round and range between 28C - 30C .
The area enjoys an average 8 hours of sunshine a day. Rain occurs in
all months of the year but is most intense from July to October,
when there is also the possibility of hurricanes. Martinique sits in
the trade wind belt. During the season these reliable winds from the
NE - E vary from 15 - 25 knots. They provide for great sailing and
give a refreshing breeze ashore
