The Charter Area
Cuba is the largest country in the Caribbean, located between
the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. With its warm climate,
reliable winds, natural beauty and friendly locals, Cuba goes beyond
any charterer’s dreams. When Christopher Columbus discovered the
island in 1492, he said: “This is the most beautiful land one has
ever seen.”
• Season •
The main season runs from November
through to the end of June. High season is limited to the two
holiday weeks over Christmas/New Year. August, September and October
are the Caribbean hurricane season and we don't recommend you
charter during these months.
• Weather • Climate • Wind •
Temperatures in Cuba are sub-tropical to tropical and there are two
distinct seasons. The dry season is in winter, between November and
May with temperatures around 25C. The summer, between May and
November, is wetter and hotter with temperatures around 28C. Winds
are north-easterly between 15 to 25 knots but can be highly variable
depending on the tropical depressions in the Gulf of Mexico and
Bahamas. Sometimes they can vary from 5 to 35 knots.

• Onshore Don't Miss •
Cienfuegos is known for its colonial-era buildings. On the central
square, called Parque José Martí, Tomás Terry Theater has gold-leaf
mosaics and ceiling frescoes. The Provincial Museum explores the
city’s colonial history. The Arco de Triunfo commemorates Cuban
independence.
El Nicho, about 90 minutes from Cienfuegos, is
located inside the Gran Parque Natural Topes de Collantes, a
forested park that extends across the Sierra Escambray mountain
range in central Cuba. It is best known for its large, attractive
waterfall that flows throughout the year, even during the dry
season. At the bottom of the falls there is a big natural pool where
you can swim and splash around. There are several other smaller
pools here as well. The water is refreshing, especially on a hot
day.
Presidio Modelo, just outside Nueva Gerona on the Isla
de la Juventud, is the prison and museum is where Fidel Castro and
the rebels who started the 26 Julio (26 July) movement where
incarcerated for their attack on the barracks in Santiago De Cuba
and what was to become the latest Cuban Revolution.
• Marine Wildlife •
The Caribbean sea is rich in marina
wildlife. There's a great chance you might meet friendly dolphins.
Bottlenose, Fraser, spotted and spinners all live here. Twenty six species of whales
exist in the Caribbean including pilot whales, sperm whales, false
Orcas and humpbacks.
Six of the seven species of turtle make the Caribbean their home
including green turtles, hawksbills, leatherbacks and
loggerheads. There are great opportunities for snorkeling over coral
reefs that abound with exotic fish. You might see queen angelfish,
rock beautys or the stoplight parrotfish
