Climate
The USVI enjoy a tropical climate, tempered by easterly trade
winds with relatively low humidity. There is little seasonal
temperature variation with a minimum daily average of 28C through to
a maximum of 31C The rainy season runs from May to November. August
- October is considered "hurricane season" and I would not recommend
a charter during those months

Getting There
The USVI are served by two international airports; The Cyril E.
King Airport [STT] on St. Thomas and the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport
[STX] on St. Croix
To get to St Thomas fly into Cyril E. King Airport. There are
direct flights from many US cities, but some are only on weekends.
Most flights connect through Miami, Ft Lauderdale or Atlanta.
Compass Point Marina, the main charter base in the USVI, is just
over 10 miles away from Cyril E. King Airport, a 30 minute taxi ride
You can also connect through Luis Muñoz Marín International
Airport (SJU), San Juan, Puerto Rico, which is the nearest
international airport. Several airlines operate flights from SJU to
STT, including Seaborne and Cape Air.
We can arrange transfers between the airport and your charter boat.

Sailing Qualifications
No formal qualifications/certifications are required but both
the charter company and I will wish to see the skipper's sailing
resume just to check they have the necessary experience to ensure
everybody will be safe and enjoy the charter
